Sunshine Gym is part of the Rampmental group which was formed in 2002 after constructing the first indoor Skate Park in Telford, Shropshire. Rodney Carter and David Howse (founders) built the indoor skate park which was the first indoor park to not only pass a full Post Installation Inspection (PII) by RoSPA but to exceed all criteria. The park went on to be used as a bench mark for other indoor parks by Insurance companies.
Rampmental Ltd are now based in a 6,500sq ft factory in Halesfield 11, Telford. The factory is set up specifically to cater for playground equipment installation, skate park equipment manufacture, maintenance and repairs. Every conceivable tool required to carry out maintenance repairs are held and a fully working fabrication department is set up to manufacture non-standard parts or reproduce obsolete parts and equipment (for example welding, fabrication of skate park equipment, multiplay panels, fencing and gate repairs).
The two founders (David Ian Howse & Rodney Kelvin Carter) have over 13 years of playground industry experience and are acknowledged by councils and major play equipment suppliers throughout the UK as being Highly professional and knowledgeable regarding play equipment installation, maintenance & repairs (see references). We have passed this knowledge and experience on to all our employees and continue to encourage a personnel learning growth environment.
Having been awarded the contracts for both playgrounds and skateparks during the period 2005-2008, Rampmental reduced Wolverhampton City Council playgrounds and parks 300 plus high and medium risk items as identified by the 2005 independent annual inspection to zero within the first 12 months of the contract; this was the best situation that Wolverhampton City Council had ever experienced since the onset of annual inspections (this is also the best rating achieved in the United Kingdom). Rampmental continued this rating for the remainder of its 3 year contact.
