The British Nutrition Foundation’s Healthy Eating Week aims to get more people eating a healthier and more well-balanced diet. And by well balanced, we mean exactly this.

Many people’s perception of healthy eating means that they neglect both fats and carbohydrates. However, research shows that by completely cutting out any of the five major food groups:

Carbohydrates,Protein, Fruits and Vegetables,  Milk & Dairy, and Fats,  you can potentially damage any weight loss or healthy eating efforts.

The excess or deficiency of any nutrient can lead to serious health issues. Therefore healthy eating entails choosing foods rich in all nutrients in a balanced quantity.

The Importance of Exercise

Eating healthy is only the first step to a well-balanced and healthy lifestyle. Exercise is also a huge part of staying healthy. Regular exercise always goes hand in hand with healthy eating. Without the introduction of exercise, simply changing your diet won’t enable you to lead a healthy lifestyle.

A combination of exercise and healthy eating will reduce body weight and/or improve muscle. This leads to more energy. However, it won’t just help you to feel physically better. It can also help to improve your mental health too.

Having a happy and healthy body enables you to have a happy and healthy mind.

An Achievable Lifestyle

Healthy Eating Week was set up in order to motivate people to start their journey to a healthier happier life. If you achieve a balanced diet for just one week, you’re likely to stick to it after the event’s conclusion.

In fact, that’s what it’s all about. The aim is to integrate this habit, striving to live a healthier lifestyle. It has been proven that, in making healthy eating a specific occasion, organisations, as well as individuals, are motivated to achieve.

During this week, many people raise awareness about the disadvantages of an unhealthy lifestyle and the things that are at stake if you continue to eat an unhealthy, unbalanced diet.

The long-term benefits of eating healthy and exercising regularly are evident and this motivates individuals in their daily routine. There are activities and habit-stimulants organised annually which remind people to start eating healthy and exercising.

Support from Sunshine Gym

In the spirit of this special week, Sunshine Gym also promotes ‘being active’ which is one of the five primary initiatives of Healthy Eating Week.

We introduce new and cool outdoor exercise equipment for you to have fun with, whilst exerting yourself safely and in a healthy manner. This will help you stay strong and improve your metabolism.

In turn, a good metabolism allows you to enjoy a sunny morning and take in a lot of Vitamin D. Furthermore, our older and younger audiences now have the exercise equipment of their choice at any time of the day.

It’s a win-win situation through which we strive to motivate you to keep you healthy and in shape.
