Visitors to Hextable Park have plenty of opportunity to access sport and fitness facilities thanks to a £15,000 investment by the parish council.
Members of the council decided it was time to update areas of the park that had become overgrown and dilapidated.
After carrying out research at neighbouring sites, parish councillors agreed a multi-use games area (MUGA) and outdoor gym would be the perfect way to add value to the park grounds.
They earmarked former tennis courts, which were underused by the community, for the new fitness zone.
The outdoor gym area has equipment designed specially for children as well as adults.
Our team drew up a secure layout which included positioning the children’s equipment at an appropriate distance to meet safety standards.
It faces the adult-size equipment so families stay visible to each other and can work out together in confidence.
The children’s fitness area for users under 1.4m tall features an Energise Multi Gym, Children’s Rower and Children’s Horse Rider.
This is complemented by bespoke surface markings designed by Sunshine Gym to keep children entertained and active when the equipment is in use.
A Fitness Trail, Training Rings and Space Rocket Hopscotch are among the markings laid down.
A combination of strength and cardiovascular equipment makes up the other half of the outdoor gym.
This features a Double Slalom Skier, Double Squat Push, Sky Stepper and Parallel Rails.
Our sister company Stadia Sports supplied a set of two senior basketball goals for the adjacent MUGA.
The heavy duty practice boards are ideal for outdoor use in community settings, offering excellent durability and longevity. Basketball court markings were also laid out.
Together the MUGA, Sunshine Gym and additional surface markings have transformed a rundown hard court into a purposeful and colourful health park for all ages and abilities.
