Following the success of other park gyms, Stoke-on-Trent City Council and the Trust at Tunstall Park commissioned Sunshine Gym to install outdoor fitness equipment for adults.
At Sunshine Gym we offer various packages to make the decision process easier. On the other hand, we also offer individual units, all offering fantastic health benefits for users to enjoy at their own pace and level.
The Trust opted for the “mix & match” approach, curating their own outdoor fitness package to meet their needs. As well as the wellbeing aspect of sociable fitness, the combination of equipment in Tunstall Park gym offers great value. That’s because these seven pieces of equipment can actually be used by fourteen users at once, each working individually and at their own pace.
In addition to the equipment itself, Sunshine Gym also supplied tarmac surfacing and expert installation. Therefore this park gym really is here to stay!
Good to know: all Sunshine Gym outdoor fitness equipment has unique safety-stop systems and no in-built resistance; this makes our park gyms accessible and safe.
What equipment is there at Tunstall Park Gym?
The Leg Stretch
Stretches are the best way to start and end a workout… and the Leg Stretch does what it says on the tin!
The Double Squat Push
The Squat Push is similar to a leg press and is great for overall lower body strength.
The Sky Stepper
This highly popular unit will be familiar to traditional gym-goers. That’s because the Sky Stepper follows the same principal as a cross-trainer.
The Double Slalom Skier
A bit of variety for your workout! Tunstall park visitors can now simulate the muscular experience of skiing with the Slalom Skier.
The Double Health Walker
You might question the significance of ambulatory equipment in a park already popular with walkers! However, the Health Walkers in Tunstall will allow users to reap the benefits of cardiovascular activity without the harsh impact on the joints which is normally associated with jogging on pavements.
The Combi Pull Down Challenger & Power Push
The two types of exercise offered by this Combination Challenger are similar to those offered by a chest press.
The Parallel Rails
For park visitors who really want to push their upper body strength, the Parallel Rails can be used in various positions.
