Sunshine Gym had the opportunity to install a range of outdoor equipment at Lythwood Sports Complex in Shrewsbury. The complex already boasted a multi-use game area (MUGA), tennis courts, a football pitch and a skate park. The goal was to further enhance the park’s amenities and promote health and wellness within the community.
After our team conducted a thorough site assessment, a tailored outdoor gym layout was created that maximised the available space and provided a variety of fitness options. The chosen equipment included a Double Health Walker, a Double Slalom Skier, a Rower, a Double Squat Push, an Arm & Pedal Bicycle, a Sky Stepper, Tai Chi Discs and a Combi Pull Down Challenger & Power Push.
The area on which the new equipment was installed was covered in grass matting which provided a durable and aesthetically pleasing surface suitable for the high footfall that Lythwood Sports Complex sees.
The installation of the new equipment was strategically positioned near walking paths to encourage multi-generational use and social interaction.
The Sunshine Gym equipment has been met with enthusiastic reception from the community. People of all ages and fitness levels are using the equipment, contributing to increased foot traffic and overall park utilisation.
The project exemplifies the positive impact that thoughtful urban planning and the inclusion of fitness amenities can have on promoting a healthy and active lifestyle within a community.
