An outdoor fitness area created by Sunshine Gym has increased capacity for physical activity at Hartford Manor Primary School.
Pupils already have access to a range of outdoor activities on top of their two hours of PE each week, including a Trim Trail and Traverse Walls.
Thanks to funding from the school’s parent teacher association, Friends of Hartford Manor, outdoor gym equipment, with enough stations for 15 children to exercise together at any one time, has also been installed.
Hartford Manor Primary School’s commitment to a high quality PE curriculum has led to the Gold Sports Mark being awarded three years in a row.
In its new outdoor fitness area, the school has chosen a mix of children’s outdoor gym equipment to keep exercise fun and interesting.
The Children’s Activ8 Multi Gym incorporates a Double Health Walker, Double Slalom Skier, Double Waist Twister, Arm Bike and Tai Chi Discs.
This results in a circuit incorporating both stretching and mobilisation exercises as well as a cardiovascular workout.
An additional Children’s Double Slalom Skier, which involves speed and rhythm as users flex their hips and shift their body weight side to side as though skiing down a hill, has also been included as it is one of the most popular pieces in our range.
A Children’s Sky Stepper, an outdoor version of a cross trainer, and a Children’s Rower offer full-body exercises while the Children’s Horse Rider and Children’s Double Strength Challenger boost the fun factor.
Our installers completed the project with brown rubber mulch surfacing to create an attractive and welcoming fitness zone that pupils love to visit.
